Custom Corset for a Dear Friend

Bring Champagne Corsets Wherever You Go

Nayani has been modeling for Champagne Corsets for many years. And when I found out that she’d be moving to Florida this summer, I wanted to thank her for all of her hard work by gifting her with a custom corset that she could wear for many years to come. Although I miss her, I am happy she was able to visit Cuba this summer for a month before moving to her final destination of Miami.

Cotton Fabrics for Summer and Hot Weather

Since Nayani has been wearing corsets for a few years now, I already had her measurements, and she knew exactly the design that she wanted – a black corset, made of faux leather snakeskin and feathers sewn along the neckline to the back of the corset. Her ideas inspired my final design. I made the inside lining with a beautiful pink cotton fabric, since her favorite color is pink. Cuba and Miami are both tropical climates, and cotton is one of the best fabrics for summer and hot weather. It is soft against your skin, one of the most highly breathable fabrics available, and soaks up sweat allowing heat to escape the body while keeping you cool. Because cotton is a natural fiber, it allows air to circulate and move freely through the fabric.

A Must Have for Bespoke Garments

Bring Champagne Corsets Wherever You Go

The faux leather snakeskin fabric we decided on is both timeless and has a great texture. Due to its pattern, I had to make sure both sides of the center front were cut exactly where the print lined up and each panel on either side had to be the same. Bespoke garments should always have a print that matches and is continuous throughout the entire corset.

Little Details Make Corsets Comfortable and Long-Lasting

I decided to keep everything black on this corset, besides the lining, and so I used a black busk for the front opening, black feathers, black grommets & washers, and black lace-up. Because the fabric has a little shine to it, I also picked shiny lace-up. I added a soft, suede trim to the feathers to keep them both secure and to avoid any poke through. These are the little details I take into consideration to make the corset the most comfortable and long-lasting.

I love how Nayani styled this corset while she vacationed in Cuba and I can’t wait to see how she wears it in Miami too!
