Oh So Sweet

Corsets & Cupcakes

Originally I had made this corset, Lilac Sweetheart, for my niece’s prom with a matching lilac, satin, high-waisted long skirt. My niece’s favorite color is lilac and when I found the perfect shade in a satin fabric I was thrilled. Paired with her silver sparkly heels she looked absolutely darling. Even though the ensemble looked like a one-piece dress, we decided together to keep the corset and skirt separate so that she can get more use out of them both with other outfits. And fortunately for me, her measurements are very close to mine!

Here comes the challenging aspect, dying all of the trims, lace, flower appliques, and lacing the exact same lilac color as the satin fabric. With my lilac dye I felt like a mad scientist boiling water on my stovetop and dipping each trim in the pot until I reached the exact match.

Easy as Cake

I love this corset because it is so versatile. It looks best with dark jeans for a more casual look or dressed up with a floral skirt. The way that I wore it was perfect for a stop at one of my favorite cafes before heading out with a girlfriend.

Have your Cake and Eat it too!

Corsets & Cupcakes

One of the greatest things about waist training is portion control. So yes I can certainly eat all of my favorite foods (even cupcakes!) but in moderation. I rarely overeat when I wear my corset, which makes my energy levels stay very high. Therefore my days are extremely productive and as an entrepreneur this is one of the greatest advantages it gives me.
