The #1 Hack to Feeling More Confident

Body language affects how others perceive us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. We express power through our bodies. Our bodies change our minds and our minds change our behavior, therefore our behavior changes our outcomes. Our posture deeply impacts both our mental and physical wellness.

Power Posing

The #1 Hack to Feeling More Confident

I remember watching Amy Cuddy’s TED Talk, “Your body language may shape who you are” (now with over 51 million views) where she shares how “power posing” – standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel that way, can change our mindset, make us feel more confident and have an impact on whatever it is that we’re about to do. Her experiments included participants to stand in a more powerful posture for just 2 minutes. Studies had shown immediate and measurable change in hormone levels, including both cortisol and testosterone. This means you will be less reactive to stress and more likely to handle pressure situations well. Now imagine the potential of a corset when worn consistently and what it can do for an individual over the long term.

Engaging Your Confidence

The #1 Hack to Feeling More Confident

Power posing is when our chest is lifted, head held high and our arms propped on our hips. Corsets automatically help us into a “power pose” while also lengthening our spine, raising our chin and opening our shoulders. They help us carry ourselves in a confident manner even before you feel that way on the inside. While wearing a corset you think more clearly, you stay calm, breathe slowly and let go of fear and shame.

Corsets are one of the most essential items to wear whenever I need to channel a more confident side of myself. They help remind me to stand as tall as I’m able, maintain good posture all while keeping my core engaged.

Do you currently own a corset and would like help styling it? Or perhaps you’re ready for a custom handmade corset of your own. Let’s get started! I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Please comment below.
