A Birthday Rose

My Birthday at The Plaza Hotel's Rose Club

In celebration of my birthday in early June, I spent the evening at The Plaza Hotel’s Rose Club in New York City. The Plaza’s legendary nightclub overlooks the hotel’s stunning Fifth Avenue lobby and has an elegant ambiance that has hosted incredibly notable acts. The colored light fixtures, casting a dim, pink glow, drape the space in a subdued, romantic air. The décor is magenta and gold-colored glitz: mahogany wood paneling, velvety sofas and carefully placed leopard printed throw pillows. This night called for my spotlight–worthy Champagne Corset because nothing helps me stand out in a crowd like some sparkle!

An Iridescent Celebration

My Birthday at The Plaza Hotel's Rose Club

Presenting a fabulous fabric featuring perfectly round pink paillette sequins that shimmer with an iridescent sheen as they fall and overlap one another across a sheer mesh. Although thin with a medium weight, it drapes with ease allowing the light to hit it just right. I inserted a soft cotton lining for more opacity and comfort. I love the feel of the smooth lining and the way the fabric allows me to move around easily from one seating area to the next. Shimmering from every angle, this material easily lit up the room.

Dame En Paillettes

My Birthday at The Plaza Hotel's Rose Club

I didn’t follow any rules for this corset. I was just having fun. Sometimes in fashion you need a little bit of that. My corset is fully boned, sewn with hand-made boning channels, waist-tape, the underbusk is at the center front and the paillette fabric is double lined. I also sewed on 2 sparkly heart appliqués at the center back. I paired my corset with these stylish, lace-up black denim jeans and black pumps.

Add a light-catching gleam to your body with this pink paillette sequin embellished Champagne Corset to electrify your night-out look!
